Breeding

Hay guyz,

So I have a male veiled about 5 months old and I am interested in having him pass on his genes. How difficult is chameleon breeding? Is it something that should even be attempted by an amateur? I like to think I take good care of my chameleon but it is my first (but not my first lizard)

I tried unsuccessfully to breed leopard geckos. They fought eachother and the male ate the female's tail and when they eventually laid eggs I couldn't incubate them properly. :(
The female eventually died after a good 8-10 years and the male went on for a few more years. Eventually he got old and skinny and stopped eating and submitted. That line is now no more... :( LOL

Anyway chameleons are much cooler lizards and I'm wanting to try to breed them.

sorry to hear about your leopard gecko experience (sometimes they just dont really get along with eachother)..If you are truly considering breeding chameleons, i would say to spend at least six months on studying, and watching vids on incubation, mating habits, caging needs, female laying needs ect ect, ..and during your time of learning you can purchase equipment (mist king, incubator, cages, lighting, ect ect..)..ied say learn as much as you can, get the stuff you will need, and with the help of this forum im sure you will manage to hatch a first clutch..:)
