Breeding "Phoenix Worms" - Black Soilder Fly Larve...

Anyone know of an easy way that I can start breeding them and getting this project going in my backyard?? I'm located in Northern California???

I believe they are tricky to breed, and require somewhat sterile locations, however I found a site with some information:

*Edit, I found another site that says they can thrive in compost, but feeding a chameleon a pupa that came out of compost sounds iffy, so... I dunno what to say

Yeah - that's what I was wondering too - I was trying to figure out if anyone on here had tried it before.....or if they did how they raised them.....thanks

Ewwww no thanks....I HATE crickets LOL I love my dubia's though and so do my reptiles LOL

Yeah, I breed dubias too there easier and some of my chams prefer them more then crickets.

pheonix worms are relly a maggot they eat dead things table scrap type stuff raising them is the somewhat same as a blue bottle fly but good veggies will be eaten too

Sounds like it's not that hard - especially if you have a BioPod. But they really need to be kept outside. I'm thinking about buying one, but $170 is pretty expensive.

hey.. that sounds intriguing...
I am tempted...
I love the fact that BSF can be used to recycle our waste.
probably not gonna feed the worm to my chams tho...
