Hey guys, i have a friend who has a pair of very nice pink panthers for sale. My hesitation comes from talking to florida breeders who have had nothing good to say about breeding this locale! The problem seems to be during incubation??? Does anyone have any experience with keeping or breeding this locale? Thanks (the name is from anchor man) the cologne Sex panther lol...

I have also heard things like this dont know if its bs or not but would love to know because maybe in the future I might also have an oppurtunity to get some of these.

Ankaramy's wouldn't be the best pick for a first time breeder. The hatchlings have a high mortality rate compared to other locales in my experience.
The eggs will need a diapause to hatch in 6-9 months

OK so you have tried them before then. . . Do you perhaps know the cause for the mortalities? Were the sizes of the hatchlings always smaller than what other panthers are? And any visible problems with them?

Wow that sucks. Do you still try and breed them?
Maybe there is some other breeders that have some personal experience with these panthers in particular.

I have heard this exact problem from many breeders! The problem seems to always be in the right incubation periods and with dia-pause! A couple breeders have been playing with humidity and temperature..from my research and talking with breeders lower temperature and high humidity have been resulting in lower death rates! i also believe they need a long period of development then most panthers! 8 to 9 months seems the magic number! 6 months in way too short for this locale!
