Hello Im woundering if any of you guys breed your own crickets? If so how do the eggs look like? Ive googled some topics about it and they look cone shaped but the thing is I dont see any of those in my dirt tub they have food water and are adults I dont seem to know what the problem is why I dont see eggs. I see alot of white things. Could those be the eggs or just part of the dirt? They dont chirp and they have wings, I have this parnoid feeling that the petstore just sold me all females because thats what I counted 15 of them and 2 males with no wings.

no worries. The sign that there not chirping probably means there not old enough to breed yet. Also you said they had no wings another good sign there not fully mature. You can tell the females from the males because they have a long tail looking thing called an ovipostum or something like that. I did a thread about my setup and methods that worked well for me. here it is.

Good luck.

Back when I had bearded dragons i tried breeding crickets and i never could quite get it right haha. When eggs were laid and babies finally hatched, i had issues with the parents eating the babies etc etc and I cannot STAND the smell of crickets. Ughhh. Cannot tell you how many times i stood there gagging next to the tank i had them in, haha.
Good luck to you though, sounds like you have the stomach for it

My crickets don't smell... It's harder to breed crickets and keep down the mortality rate compare to roaches. You generally need at least 3 tubs. One for adults to breed and lay in, one for the newly hatched crickets, and another for the mixed sizes or whatever.

I only ever breed crickets for my Pygmies, mantids, or baby chameleons/anoles. I don't think it's worth it if you need full sized adult crickets.
