Breeding and enclosure for Verrucosus

Well, the cat already knows about Delko, and his room has the door open 24-7 and there is no problem since the cat is sleeping 20 hours a day! And everytime he s too close, i spray him to get him away, and it works wonder. ;) Now he barely goes into Delkos room every few days or so.

At the end, i consider it could be a risk, true, but a very very low risk for the Verrucosus since i barely never close the door of Delkos room exactly because i believe he is not a threat. And if he ever becomes one, ill fix things to make sure that everyone is alright! :)

About what you wrote Chams1, i still plan on running the quarantine procedure at least for two weeks, if not three. The reason for this is to have enough time to get a few fecals done, to make sure they are not parasited, and of course a few days to acclimate to their new environment. Not to say that they will have to travel for a good 3 hours to get here, which is stressful, nonetheless.

About the cat, i still believe that the cat might be a problem for the first few days, but after 2 or 3 days i dont think he will be wandering around the cages anymore. The reason for this is he is a very sleepy cat and a very social cat, making him do two things: 1) he sleeps in our bedroom, and 2) he's in the living room with me and my girlfriend. This is 98% of his time. The 2% left he roams a little of everywhere, but very very rarely around the Delkos enclosure.

Anyway, talking about it is pure speculation to me. It sure will be something i will keep an eye on it, but i think its worth taking the risk. If something bad happens, i guess ill have no other choice but to put the Verrucosus into the same room than Delko, even if quarantined.
