Breakfast of Champions

Late night thoughts:

I woke up one morning and noticed that my color wasn't what it ought to be. Looked a little stressed. My eyes were a little puffy and I'd been rubbing them a lot. And, my grip didn't seem as strong as it once was. My skin sagged a bit, and when I pinched my belly it just kind of stayed there.

Suddenly it occurred to me that my cockroaches eat better than I do! Let alone my chameleons. If I'd just eat a bowl of gut-loaded Dubias every morning I'd probably look pretty good right now.

Where's MY chopped fruit and vegetables? Who's gonna dust MY Lucky Charms in the morning?

I wouldn't dream of neglecting my chameleons the way I've neglected myself lately. In all our caring for family, friends, loved ones, and our little scaly friends, sometimes perhaps we forget to take good care of ourselves?

Just a middle-of-the-night thought.

Pass the Dubias, dear, I think I'll have seconds. :)

In the summer, when I have multiple insect projects happening ...
I spend more time taking care of bugs and preparing "bug food" then I do taking care of anyone or anything else here.
I do a very good job of preparing healthy nutritious meals for everyone here ... but I think the bugs get the best treatment:rolleyes:

My daughter claims that I spend more time preparing food for/taking care of the critters than I do anything else. I tell her that SHE is capable of making her own breakfast, the dogs, lizard, bunny, and bird cannot......

Ditto.....

Ditto all of that. The checkout clerks at the grocery store are always so impressed with the amount of healthy things in my grocery cart. Collard greens, dandelion greens, fresh herb salad, fresh papaya, zuchinni, fresh pea pods, yellow squash, apples, oranges....on and on. All those things are in my cart every week. The sad thing is that every one of those items was for my iguanas, hydrosaurus lizard, or my feeder insects!
