Branches and tree identification?

It may be hard to identify but thought I’d ask anyway. Does anyone know what kind of tree this is and if it’s safe for chams? The branches I picked off the ground are solid wood and don’t see or feel sap. I live in Texas if that helps. Looked everywhere online and cannot ID the tree. Bark is really smooth and doesn’t seem to peel off. Thanks in advance!

It say if there is no sting odor, no sap and no obvious signs that it’s infested with little buggies you should be ok :)
