Can anyone help me out with telling whether my chameleon is a male or female? I’ve been leaning towards male but I’m not 100% positive.

Hi and welcome. Male veileds have a prominent bump on their back heels, called tarsal spurs. I see yours has a very subtle bump, so it’s actually unclear to me. However, I‘m thinking female. How old is your chameleon?

They didn’t know it’s age but I’m assuming around 4 months old. Thank you

I am not seeing a spur at all.... She will require different husbandry.

Females can produce eggs without mating so in order to keep her from developing Follicular stasis, dystocia(eggbinding), they need to be kept on a diet and the temperatures controlled by the time they are nearing sexual maturity.

You start by cutting feedings down from every day to every other day and then continuing to decrease the number of insects down to 4 or 5 every two or three days....and maintaining the basking temperature at 80F. This keeps her clutch size smaller and can even decrease the number of clutches per year down as low as zero.
