Nice man! Did all this talk about roaches earlier inspire you? LOL
Nah, I've been trying to get these suckers to breed for over two months and have only had one female deliver 30+ nymphs. I'm a little frustrated and happened to be out and about yesterday and found a LPS that had some in stock. I'll probably go and pick up the rest of his stock. Maybe a handful or so left...![]()
I know you've been trying for a while, just since you bought more...
I hope your hissing family goes well![]()
Thx! Good luck with your new dubs!!![]()
Thanks! What are you planning to do with the hissers? Feed? Sell?
Prolly a lil bit of both! Man gotta do what a man gotta do!![]()
Who's gotta big enough mouth to eat 'em? Lol
They come in various sizes, y'know? From itty itty bitty to what you see in the pic!

Yeah, but what do you do with the adults? Don't they live like 20 years or something?
2-3 yrs +/-. The adults will just continue to make some babies, but a full grown veiled, panther, melleri, parsons, oustie, verrucosus, etc can tackle a full grown hisser no problem!![]()
What chams do you have Max?
Just a verrucosus, aka Giant Spiny, aka Warty. He's about 8-9 months old.
I had a midnight black 4" hisser male in my colony. The adult ones I had were way too big for the average veiled/panther.
I eventually got rid of them because they managed to escape and they wouldnt die! All my other roaches die within a week but these things I still found around the house 3 months later! I even found one last month which was about 6 months after I got rid of the others!
