Both panthers trying to get out

Both of my panthers are recently always climbing the sides of their cages or waiting by the door to climb out onto my hand when I open it. I know when they reach a certain age sometimes they do this but both have already done so at about 6 months. They are both in xl reptibreeze cages and nothing has changed at all, temps etc are all fine. The female has been bright orange for a while now, leading me to think she could be receptive? But when I introduce my male he just puffs up. Anyone got any ideas as to why both of them could be doing this?

Well being caged is not a natural thing for a chameleon. Do you have a safe area, spare bedroom or bathroom where you could sit up free ranges for them? They would need separate free ranges. If you don't have safe areas free from small children and pets you could try adding additional vines and branches or even try larger enclosures. It's important to keep them out of sight of each other too.

Also, it's best to wait until after a year old and a good weight to mate a female. When under a year eggs, especially fertile eggs, pull allot of calcium from the female that her body still needs because she is still growing.

When the weather allows they get time in the conservatory or outside but living in scotland it's far too cold just now. I do have another room that my savannah monitor is in but I think it'd be too stressful for them or at least teasing the sav lol.

The female is about 1 year 8months I think, would have to check. And she weighs 95g
