Boosting your UVB

Hey Gang........
Just thought I would post a pic of my cage modification.

To start, I was unhappy with my UVB output readings... So I replaced the window screen at the top with 1/4" square holed hardware cloth. A small roll cost me 12 bucks. I built this cage myself and have never had crix or any other bugs get past the framework at the top. So im not worried about bugs getting loose thru the new bigger mesh:cool: My readings went from the mid 30's to the mid 60's !!!!!:D If for some reason they do start to escape..... I am ready to place strips of clear packing tape to the top edges of the walls... That'll stop them buggers;) that stuff is super sliiiiiiiiippppery.

some\ people\ i\ have\ seen\ have\ the\ uvb\ light\ inside\ the\ cage.\ anhyone\ know\ if\ that\ is\ a\ safe\ thing\ to\ do?

i've used it for the tops of iguana cages i've built in the past and have seen the same kind of results. it's great for DIY.

It is not.
Higher chance of shorting somthing out, if the bulb explodes(it can happen) the glass and phosphorus would harm the cham.

To OP: I like it.
