Bonsi? Trees Can i put one in with my Veiled Chameleon?

I do not think bonsai trees are the safe cham list.
However, for good platns, I use schefflera, and pothos. and Im about to gt several ficus for my adult cage.

Depends on the species of tree.....nearly all will be safe though. I had an Elm in with an Anole once that looked hella cool

Hmm good to know. what species of tree do you use? since bonsai is actually the art of training and cutting the tree, not the species itself. ;)
If its safe, Id like ot use one or two for my hoehnelli coming next week.

It was just once, 15 years ago probably :)(damn, you reminded me that I'm nearly 30:rolleyes:.....) I just saw the tree while out shopping and thought it would look good with my other scenery

Hey age is merely a number. How you feel and how you think of youself is what determines your true age... so since your almost 30 biologically, im going to go with... your mental age is.... 15? lol jk jk.

I shall now have to go on a hunt for trees!

I currently have 6 ficus bonsai between 2 baby deremensis cages. The only thing you have to watch is that the bonsai don't get waterlogged, that will kill them. You can buy bonsai at most greenhouses. If it has any dead leaves be very careful as it may already be dead. I also saw some cheap one at Walmart.
There are a number of kinds of bonsai you can put in cham cages, just check the safe plant list like for any other tree. The only bonsai I can get in Montana is a ficus.:(

lol, depends what you mean by 'mental' - I have a little extra knowledge since then, but I don't act much more wise........

Good point about the waterlogging - I never had that problem, as my Anole drank from a bowl and never got misted........

My baby deremensis get their mistking for a minute 8 times a day. I have the pot on a upside down flower pot so it will drain. Nice bonsai are pricey.

So it just depends on the day. got it.Lol. gaining more knowledge is always a good thing.
think Ill jstu stick with my 3 favs for plants.

Waterlogging is when the plant can't breath for all the water. The leaves will start to turn yellow. It can be avoided with bonsai by removing them from the cage once a week and letting them dry out for a day or 2. They should never be bone dry, but they don't need a swamp either.
