Bonsai Trees// Safe or not safe?

Not easy to answer. Bonsai trees can be many types of plants. If you do a search you will find a lot of threads about them. May help you figure out what type of plant you have.

Bonsai is just a style of cultivation. It can be almost any type of tree. I once saw a Great Sequoia bonsai at an exhibition at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden (massive thing, about 6ft tall and was about 50 years old - far larger than most "bonsais" but still tiny for the type of tree).

A lot of bonsais in the US are juniper, since that tree lends itself well to easy care as a bonsai. They tend to be scraggy and prickly. Others like ficus and maples are also common.

I think most types of common trees you can find as bonsais are probably going to be okay to use as decoration. They probably won't be big or sturdy enough to be the primary climbing plant.
