Bob decided he is done with crickets?

Hey again,
So the day after posting my "Meet Bob the Chameleon" thread Bob decided he wants nothing to do with crickets anymore, but he is all over the superworms as soon as he sees them. Whats the best way to get him interested in the crickets again? All that is available at the stores here is crickets and supers... Thanks in advance.

Look around the forums and you'll see some other threads on "hunger strikes". It won't hurt him to go a day or two without food, so you might try offering only crickets until he's hungry enough to take them. Several veiled chameleons like veggies - collard greens, carrots, sometimes oranges - and you may try offering those as well to entice him. I don't know that there's a nutritional reason to limit superworms to a treat (unlike waxworms, which are fatty, or mealworms, which don't offer much nutrients), but they would be expensive as a staple. If he finds he can train you to give him his favorite treats, he will.

As they near adulthood their eating slows down. Then you will want to start feeding every other day instead of every day. Jann

Hmm... He's still not into the crickets. He's eaten some veggies, and he still reacts instantly when he sees a worm. Would it be a good idea to give him just one or two worms a day, kindof to keep him from starving but keep him hungry and maybe entice him back to crickets? Or should I just stop with the worms for a while so he doesn't get more addicted?

Superworms (at least the ones I get) are pretty big; if I gave my guy (a panther, and thus a somewhat smaller species than Bob) one or two supers a day, he'd never develop an appetite for anything else. If I were you, I might try one super every third day, and have crickets available on the other days (or super one day, nothing one day, crickets one day, repeat). But this is just guesswork, and others may have better ideas.
