Anybody know what this stuff actually is...it is called blue cricket water, kind of looks like blue jello. one of my local pet store sells it unmarked in containers anywhere from 1-3 dollars depending on size. i am just wondering if anybody actually knows what this stuff is. thanks

Probably something similar to Ryan Jarosek's water crystals, but it gel form instead of crystal form.

It's used to keep your crickets hydrated. Crickets are notorious for drowning in a very small amount of water, using a crystal or gel form helps avoid that.

It is a polymer crystal that expands and absorbs water. It is really inexpensive in the dry form non toxic. The crystals will grow 400x their original size and form a gell crystal full of water.

It is just water crystals with blue food coloring. I know exactly what store your talking about. It is way cheaper to buy a few bucks of water crystals and make your own. Thats what they do and mark it way up. You can get a gallons worth for what they charge for that little cup.
