Bloodlines

In creating bloodlines, How would you go about doing this?

Can you do this by naming an offspring of well known bloodline?

I have the 2 chameleons that I want to breed and think they would make excellent offspring. Can I rename this the bloodline?

What are you breeding?

Purple bar Ambanjas.

I have one offspring from Azure and a Female with purple coloration on her. Looking to breed them next year when the male is old enough.

To create a blood line all you need to do is name your animals and say "this boy is from the xyz bloodline". But what you do have to have is credibility in producing pretty offspring for your "bloodline" to have any merit.

How much have you researched? This is VERY VERY VERY unlikely to create an actual purple bar bloodline.

Havent really researched really. Everything is just a thought right now.

Thats what i'm wondering. If I have 1 purple bar male, a female that has alot of purple on her and they produce offspring with high purple even predominant purple bars, could I have created a new bloodline?

line of decent.

Well I guess im asking if I bred my purple bar can I call it the grimace bloodline?

There is a difference in bloodline and type or classification. I think you are talking about selling the offsrping as "purple bars" and there is no way to know if they are or aren't PB until they are fully mature. Because honestly its not purple, its a mixture of color blends that loks like purple but there is not an actual PB. Now bloodline is simple its the sire and dam.

At one level, "bloodline" only means who the parent(s) are (often only the sire is cited in chameleons, as that's where the desired trait [color] is visible - e.g. Azure bloodline). If you mate your chams, you can certainly call whatever results "the Grimace bloodline".
I think what some of the others may be getting at is, what are the desired results, and what are the probable results? Purple is pretty, but not altogether unheard of, on female panthers, of multiple locales. The purple spots you might see on the face probably aren't going to correlate with her having great purple bar genetics - she may, or she may not. If you want to ensure more and purpler purple bar Ambanjas, you need to know what the (unexpressed) purple bar potential of the mother is. Common ways of doing this are to look at her sire and, particularly, her brothers.

this picture was taking about a month ago. His coloration is starting to come in alot more.

What do you guys think? Will they produce nice babies?

He's a looker but it's way to early to say how he will turn out or if he will keep his purple bars.

You have some awesome looking panthers bud... I think you will have some purple bars in the offspring by the looks of the female's siblings. Your male also has good purple bar lines from azure! Let me know in about a year and a half when you have some babies ready!! They will be lookers that is for sure;)
