Hey there, i just got a pair of veiled chameleons, about 3 months old.
The male is doing great, but the female is black. They came together, but i separated them after the female was looking a little bit dark and stressed. Its been like 2 days of her being alone and shes almost completely black now.
What would you guys recommend I do?
She's alert, but isn't very active at least compared to the male.
EDIT: oops lemme fill out the thing
Your Chameleon - veiled, 3 months, lil less than a week
Handling - I haven't, aside from moving her to a new enclosure
Feeding - Crickets so far, ate a couple of lateralis I think too
Supplements - all i've used thus far is repashy calcium plus, but I've had them less than a week so I doubt supplements are the issue
Watering - Using a mister, also a dripper. Haven't seen her drinking.
Fecal Description - Not tested, but stool looks pretty normal.
History - posted above
Cage Info:
Cage Type - screened, 2x2x2 for now
Lighting - reptisun 5.0
Temperature - Let me go find my temp gun and I'll report back, she has the exact same lighting and heating as the male who is doing well though so
Humidity - Ambient room is 70
Plants - None right now, using pothos for the male, was planning on getting her some soon too.
Placement - bottom of the cage is maybe 4 feet up. Not near doors/vents/etc. only other animals visible to her are a crested and a tokay across the room, but neither of those are out unless lights are off.
