My male Nosy Be Panther is about 6 months old and has now developed a grayish-black spot on his chin. He usually eats like a dog and today he hardly ate at all. He now walks around on the botton of his cage sluggishly but seems to be somewhat alert. Does anybody know what is bothering him??

well chameleons get bar patterns that they can turn on/turn off with their color changing ability.

without a better photo, its hard to tell, Really hard to tell.

so if you can get one of him resting, relaxed it'll be easiest to tell if its something serious.

If you look on the camera, there is a setting that should look like a little flower, switch it to that.

That or try the shakey hand option, that brings down the blur from user movement.

Unless it is a cell phone, then I understand your lack of photo options.

Im not sure dont quote me but that almost looks like he could have scratched it on something. Chameleon scabs can get dark like that. My other thought is, maybe some kind of skin infection.

If he had a little accident and scratched himself or maybe bruised something else. Could maybe be why he isnt acting the same.

These are just my thoughts it is hard to tell really.

It looks like it could be a bruise. Sometime they bump up against a plastic stick or something hard and it leaves a mark. It should go away soon if it is a bruise.

i really appreciate your reply. thats the best photo i can get. i am currently holding a vield chameleon for a freind of mine while she moves. both cages are probably 25 feet from each other but both cages are screen enclosed. can this have anything to do with it?
