I don't care if my boys would eat them or not! I can't hardly deal with the hornworms chewing on me let alone these things!! I have decided to breed the brown crickets myself before I am left with no option! These black devils scare me! Claude likes to hunt on occasion and I could NEVER let him with these things!

Ha ha they also eat chameleons and people given half a chance. If you have any escapees be sure to sleep with one eye open...
Two of our cats love hunting them when they get out. I'm pretty sure one of them got bit last night because she was playing with one, yowled then ran off. I was a little embarrassed for her. Come on, a cat running from a cricket!

LOL...most of the humans on this forum are afraid of them...I wouldn't blame your cat.
I finally had my first "problem" with them after keeping them and breeding them for almost a year. One ate one of the legs off of one of my mantis. To be fair the cricket had been feeding off of the other crickets and FF's in the mantis cage and had gotten HUGE and was way too big to feed to the mantis. After the cricket ate the leg he she was promptly killed by the mantis. EPIC battle
