Black eye and spot? (pictures included)

Hey all!

I was just wondering what this might mean. He's recovering from an eye problem.

Found this black dot on his side yesterday and his eye looks darker than usual.

I dabbed some polysporin on the dot and around the eyes (the eyes have been getting alot better...but now this seems strange.)

From what I know about health in children the eyes could be looking like this because it is healing...but i'm skeptical.

I gave him a shower tonight, just in case this was a sign of dehydration but he's been drinking fine for a few days now.

I lowered the temperature in the cage because the basking spot was a little warm for him.

Now the basking spot is 95.5degrees. 82ambient at the top and 75 near the bottom. Night temperature is 78.2degrees in the exact spot he is sleeping right now.

He has a pothos in there and fake vines. A dripper drips right beside his favorite basking spot and he drinks from it regularily.

I often find him inactive and dark of colour when I walk in but I mist his enclosure down or make some activity and he becomes active and looks good as new...

The humidity is 90%.

He hasn't eaten since sunday. lot's of urin, no feces.

also if you look carefully at the corner of his mouth it almost looks like there is some dried blood there...but then again it could just be red pigment.

Should I bring him to the vet this weekend? or could all this lethargic behaviour merely be the effects of recovery? he looks a whole lot better than he did a couple days ago...just these dark patches.

Without further ado here are some pictures!

Thanks all!

Yes, you should most certainly take him to the vet. He looks a little young to be missing meals. I'm not sure I would be waiting until this weekend to take him in. If you cannot possibly take him before this weekend, then perhaps you should send a private message to Dr. Wheelock on this forum, and ask for his advice for what to do in the mean time. No doubt your cham is suffering. I'm not familiar with this type of skin problem, but it looks very serious, and his lack of appetite suggests he is in pain or discomfort.

is it possible that it could be burns? i've heard somewhere that the scales go dark kinda like our skin goes red when sunburnt. what was the temperature of his basking spot before? i looks to me that the 2 dark spots are on the same side. i would hope to think that nothing worse could be going on, but i suggest going to the vet asap.

wow.

That really doesn't look good. The tissue looks dead around the eye. Is it a burn of some type?

I'd take him in to the vet asap for my .02
