Bit off more than I can chew....

I happened upon an Exo Terra Large X- Tall brand new for $150!!! on Craigslist so I jumped on it. I figured I could use it for an emergency hospital or quarantine enclosure or for babies.

The thing is, I didn't put any thought about how it would even fit in my cham room (formerly guest room). I managed to get my nephew and his friends to sneak it into my house so my wife wouldn't see it, but when she does, I'm in a whole heap of bloody urate.

For those of you who are considering this monster, this will give you an idea as to how big it is. The one on the table is an 18x18x24"...just look at the vacuum in comparison to size. 36x18x36"

I’d set it up for my main chameleon cage and use the small one for babies or hospital. You can create shelves for the smaller ones so that they are at least eye level. As for the wife, tell her it was a birthday gift she bought for you a few years ago and was stored in the garage. Watch her be dumbfounded for a bit and see if it flies. :rolleyes:

I don't think I would use glass for permanent housing for chams....Too many problems. It was cheap so I grabbed it, but now I have no idea what to do with it -_-;;

HAA HHAAA - LOL - you make me laugh - nice pick up - I have ALWAYS wanted one of those- I have seen them in person - and your right - they are HUGE!

Caught my wife in a good mood. Showed her the tank and I'm home free. I even managed to convince her that no guests would ever stay in that room so out went the bed!

Very good. I'm the opposite only it takes my husband a while to notice a change. By then I'm in the clear. What about something besides a cham?

HAHAHAHAHAHA.

Okay but I wanted to ask, what's in that other exo terra? A crestie or something? :)

I'm considering getting into dart frogs but I think the tank might be too big for them. Maybe if I bought a couple hundred -_-;;

Nope, it's a hospital tank I use for chams that just aren't eating or drinking as they should. Right now it's home to a gravid Mt. Meru Jackson's that is just not drinking as much as she usually does.

Discussed it with my buddy and we will set it up for babies. Gotta go out now and gather some tiny vines from the ravine before it's all covered in snow.
