big crickets harmful?

will any harm come to my chameleon if i feed him crickets that are to big? i just got a 2 month old chameleon and i went to the pet store and bought small crickets but when i feed em to my chameleon they looked pretty big and he would hold the cricket in his mouth for a little bit before he swallowed. should i have gotten extrasmall? he already ate 9.

Well 2 months old should be eating very small crickets. Rule of thumb is the cricket is not supposed to be larger than the space between the chameleon's eyes. The holding of the cricket in his mouth is normal as chameleons will sometimes hold their prey in their mouth for a little bit before they eat it. I would get the extra small. Don't want your cham to choke!!!

I've noticed that my smaller chameleons eat more if the prey is the appropriate size for them.
