best way to travel?

Hi!
You do know most people are asleep now, right? Most of the board is not on the west coast.
I would put her in a box or bag with something to cling to (stick, branch, rolled up paper towel) and just keep the temps inside the car comfortable for you. In fact, I would keep them a bit on the cool side. That will encourage the chameleon to stay asleep.

As you thought you might need to cook your fiance, I want to suggest you do some research here on the best practices for keeping your chameleon. They are not desert dwellers, they do not require excessive heat, particularly when they are sleeping.

Just set the heater to an acceptable level. Keep the animal covered and in the dark so it will sleep through the journy. How cold is it going to be outside?

0135 to be exact, Skyrim keeps me up Now I HAVE to stay up to be awake for the morning cham routine, if I sleep theyll be angry

Not sure how cold it suppose to be but my fiancee usually doesnt run the heater at all and keeps the window half way down, i do know it suppose to be raining though ... i usually have to wear a jacket in the truck with him lol.... i mean i know if it is in the 70's that will be fine just wondering if i could put something in the box with her like a hand warmer under a wash rag or something. ( just in case, like to be prepared )
Yeah i know it is late back east ... I just got the chance to get back on tonight and check my post from this morning and no replies.... I actually do quite a bit of looking around and reading on here and have learned quit a lot thank you ...but never hurts to get good expierenced advice from knowledable ppl

I dont sleep much, seems like a waste of time.
To the OP:
I doubt it will be severly cold outside, but if it is, try putting the cham in a box, and covering it with lots of blankets towels, coats, untill it gets into the warm car 6hrs isnt to bad a drive, just try not to vary its temp by to much throughout the whole ordeal.

I'm awake too! Who needs sleep when you have dr pepper?! When I pick up the newest member of my family I believe I'll put a blanket on the bottom of the box, some branches, a little bit of leaves, and blankets around the box with air holes of course.

I would say if you are comfy without a jacket, then it's fine for your chameleon.
If it turns out to be a cold night (and those happen) you could absolutely wrap a hand warmer up and put it in the box/bag with her. It might be better to put the warmer (wrapped up) next to her bag.
When in doubt, choose the cooler option. Your chameleon can tolerate cold quite well...you don't want to burn it.

Thanks so much for the advice im getting really excited to go pick her up this weekend ... not so much for like 12-14 hours in the car but all worth it in the end!!
