best way to rehydrate?

from what everyone else has said randall's 2 1/2 to 3 months. ive had him for about a week and a 1/2 now. i use repti calcium without d3. was using d3 the first couple day i got him and found out thats only once and a while. he has a uvb thats still new. its a reptiglo 5.0 i think a coil bulb at 26 watts i thikn id have to check exactly. the uva is a 100 watt zilla. the bulb on the uva is like blue but it putts out regular color.
 
I think jsut let him settle into his home and give him time. dont handle him much right now,

mist regularly, feed, etc. but dont take him out right now.
 
alright i guess. i did just get new cage and set him up. i take him out almost everyday. i know thats bad but he doesnt mind. i moved the lamp closer to the screen so it should get him some heat. when i take him outside he perks right up and is all active and stuff. although i mist the plants i put him on before hand and during he still doesnt drink. and ive put a feeder cup out with him and he wont eat out of it. neither will he eat out of it in his cage i dont think. at leat not like you guys say he should be eating like 10 crickets a day. i think he maybe eats like 3 or 4. but not like all at once. he just eats through out the day. so shoulda i stop putting them around his cage and just leave them in a cup and let him figure it out?
 
He will figure out how to cup feed, it takes time.

he may not drink infront of you, just mist and walk away.

he perks up outside because of the sun.

He needs time to settle into his cage. so, really, dont hold him for now.

ive owned my veield for over a year. I NEVER see himdrink.

Also, my guy never at 10 bugs a day when he was small. he only ate like 5-7 a day.
 
I have a veild chameleon and his poop is dark brown but one spot is white. His he hydrated? And should I be really conserned? I do spray is cage with water.
 
Youre handling him way too much and you are really stressing him out, stop handling him, stop spraying directly in him he clearly hates it, get a mist king and stop bothering your chameleon they are not pets that like attention or like to be handled, in fact they love being left alone and they love privacy.

Get a mistking and leave him alone
 
Him falling asleep when you handle him is a defense mechanism, which means hes so stressed and scared hes given uo and thinks he will be eaten amd hes ready to just let that happen.

Stop handling him.

No. Just no.
He does not want to sleep. He is so stressed out he gives up on life. The only problem that may arise is from the extreme stress you are putting him under.

  • Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?

  • Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
  • Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
  • Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
  • Location - Where are you geographically located?

I have had my veiled over a year now and altho I use a dripper as well as hand mist, I have never seen him drink.
I run a fogger at night which helps humidity and hydration. He has never been dehydrated so just because you don't witness them actually drinking doesn't mean thier not getting hydration. They also recieve some from juicy feeders like silks and hornworms.
