I find coconut husk good, but when I mist the cage and it falls to the husk it seems to soak up underneth at the bottom of it ? Anything better for soaking up water then drying out ? Without water building up on the bottom ?

You will find on this site that pretty much everyone says to not use substrate at all. If anything you should use some paper towel on the bottom of the cage and then you can easily remove it.

Best substrate is NO substrate. People will probably argue that they've had no issues, but it is a HUGE risk. If your chameleon eats it, he could choke or impale himself from the inside out, clog himself up and die, ect.

I just advise NO substrate.

If you have already gotten a chameleon/thinking about it do your research again. Substrate is a no no.

I've had it in both my chams cages and have been unhappy with it since. More of a bother then anything else. So a layer of paper towel changed daily should be sufice. That's what I wanted to do in the first place but my fiance wanted the husk

When you say coconut husk, do you mean the kind with large chunks in it? Any kind of substrate that isn't fairly fine is generally going to be even more of a risk (compared to something like finely sifted soil/sand.) Generally, no substrate is the easiest and most recommended with the more common species like panthers and veileds that dont have a very high humidity requirement. I would say to look into your drainage options and use some paper towels.
