Best screen mesh for cham enclosure

I'd like to make my own enclosure but am having trouble finding the right mesh. Home Depot only carry either window screen or very open mesh in large rolls (either 4 squares to the inch or chicken wire). What I'd like to find is aluminum mesh that is fairly rigid. So the question is, what's the best material and how do you ensure that it's rigid when attached to a wood frame, sort of like how window screen is "stretched" onto the metal screen frame? I went to several websites that specialize in mesh and 1/8" aluminum screen, for example, is around $3-5 a square foot. Seems awfully expensive.

I just bought some at home depot. It was in some bins on the bottom of the display way in the corner. I really had to look for it, and then I even touched it to make sure.
