Most people will reccomend ficus, schefflera, pothos, and hibiscus. But you can also go on this sites Resources on the top of the page and find some more safe plants. FLchams.com also has a safe plants list.

But, to answer your Qs, I am biased toward Hibiscus Rosa Sinensis.
