So I got my cham living outside until the end of summer. I want to know what is the best type of fruit to attract flies with? I plan on letting the fruit hang in my chams cage. That way I can get a free food source for him and won't even have to catch them.

be carefull catching wild insect for fear of disease or it ingesting pesticides that can be transferred and harmful to your cham if he eats it! good luck...

I catch wild insects in my spare time and feed them to my cham. It's mostly flies or moths. I usually gut load them with fresh lettuce, apple, and other stuff. That usually cleans their guts out.

Try "stinky fruit" its usually located in asian supermarkets. It produces an exrememly fowl smeling scent that attracts flies. It is large and very spiky

I use a piece of raw fish in a large zip-lock bag.
On a hot day you can catch 400-1000 flys in no time.
I put some news paper in the bag for the flys to climb on then you just zip it closed to catch 'em.

banana and sweet potato that are overly ripe.. almost to the point of rotting.. are both good at attracting fruit flies
