Best dang roach bin ever!

As you know, I have a LOT of insects...I have been looking for multiple size containers that I can house my various roaches in, and all my grain eaters. Until now, I have created my own tops to contain climbing flying roaches, but they are heavy, and need attention to keep the seal on place.

Another issue that has come up is the fruit flies and gnat populations, so I needed an airtight container so they have zero access through the lid/container edge gap.

I found 2 Manufacturers that have created containers with a seal between the lid and the edge of the container that is 100% bug proof. This container will possibly convince the significant other that roaches are a possibility!

First I bought the Zip Lock Weathersheild containers, but found their lid surface was not flat, making it difficult to cut out for a ventilation hole. I returned those containers and purchased the Sterlite brand which has a flat lid surface. The Sterlite brand is on Target's shelves, I bought the 54 quart for $11.95, and the 20 quart for $6.99. You also can buy on Target's website, and over $25 orders ship free. Amazon was much higher when I looked.

On the lid cut-out, it is screen on the bottom, and on the top, a fine mesh material that is breathable, but too small for the fruit flies and gnats to get through.

CHEERS!

Nick, why do you need the screen on the bottom if you have the fine mesh on top? Is the fine mesh nylon, so some of the bugs can chew through it?

Can you please post a picture of the top so I can get an idea of how you put on the screen. Thanks.

Exactly right, and if i accidentally hit the fine mesh cloth, the screen will keep me from tearing it.

CHEERS!
