Strange that fish is a good source d3 when it gets less sun than terrestrial animals. Guess they need to store it since its less abundant under there.
Predators that are highly selective, ie a big cat making a kill tend to prize the liver first and fats stored around it before letting scavengers pick the muscles & bones.
This post reminded me of the vampire finch and the boobies:
