Hey Gang,

I have read dif articles are blogs and such on basking temps. Some ppl go even as high as 95+. I have a 4 month old and my temp gauge is set about 1 inch higher then the basking area but off to the side so it doesn't get all the light the basking area (vine and log) do. It reads 84-86 most the day to which I read was ideal.

After reading about all these ppl that go higher I figured I'd post and see what most ppl on here think.

Thanks in advance,

Eddie

I reduce basking temps for all my females to 84 degrees when they hit five months old, along with reducing their feeding to every other day. It really helps to prolong the life of females and if you are not planning to breed it reduces infertile as well as fertile clutch sizes. all of my females have laid clutches between 20-30 eggs, and all are in perfect health. For my males I set basking temps to 90 degrees.
