basking temp confusion

just wondering if 80f is okay for a baby veileds basking spot?, she never sits under the basking light and when I put my hand under the bulb it doesnt seem very warm also what is the temp meant to be at the lower end of the tank or doesnt this really matter?

80º is ok but try to get it warmer like 85º and the cooler end of the cage shouldn't drop that much 80º to 78º because of the veiled being young the temp. should stay high until it is 2 to 3 months old then you can lower the temp.

..Where did you hear that? They can't thermoregulate as well as the adults so the temperatures should be lower until they are a couple months old.. THEN the temperatures can go up...

Where did you hear that? Not to mention the veiled is a female..

yeah ive read everywhere else that the temps should be lower for babies than for adults but just wanted to make sure as im getting rather confused with all the diff info im reading AND with it being my first cham im getting worried about every little thing.as an owner of 2beardies I will say that its those who need higher temps as babies and then lower as they get older.

rather than argue about what people have posted and why, could people just please give me an answer as to whether 80f is the correct temp for a baby cham, shes around a month old.thankyou

I've kept/raised/hatched veileds for many years and I keep the temperature in the warmest area in the low 80's for babies. I have also had beardies for many years and I kept them in the same range. The last beardie I lost was over 11 and most of my veiled females live to be 6+, males even older.

ok thankyou, 80f is the temp that we are maintaining for her now so seems as if we are doing this right.Im just worryin atm thats all, think ill calm down a bit when she gets a bit bigger lol

yup I keep my baby veiled at about 82-83 she seems to be doing really well Ive had her for a month now on august 4th.. pic of my avatar was of her 3 days ago.
