Basking Often

It’s been a bit since I’ve posted on here because I’ve been busy with work and plans around this time of year, but Rango is still thriving!

My only issue: I’ve noticed that he seems to bask all day. Compared to before, he used to explore his “territory” and was fairly active during the day, so I’m a bit worried.

It’s also shedding time for Rango. Does that have anything to do with it?

I think this has mostly to do with the change in seasons. Littlefoot, I've especially noticed, is hunkering down to her sleep spot sooner since the time/season change. Our little loves seem to also get a winter "funk".

The other newbie, reporting.
Spooble has slowed down on food, stands in one place for most of the day, and tucks himself into bed early. He can easily see that it gets dark at around 3:30-4:00 and I believe that natural instinct is kicking in.

It does make me wonder, how one might safely allow brumation, and if it would have positive effects in the long run.

Yes! They do tend to ‘slow down’ this time of year. Typically will explore less, eat less, go to bed early. All normal behavior for this time of year.

Chameleonaire has been hanging around his lamp for a good chunk of the day too for the last three or four weeks. Winter is upon us over here and the house is noticeably cooler than it was throughout the summer. He still patrols his turf but not like he was before. I’m super glad I got the dragon strand hybrid because it helps a whole lot keeping the heat in there for him.
