Basking light vs Heat Pad

I'm new to owning a Chameleon and I currently have a basking light and UVB light for my Chameleon during the daytime. I was thinking about switching to a Zoo Med UVB LED system but it doesn't seem provide much heat from what I can tell, though I don't own it. If I were to get it, I was thinking of using a heat pad to keep the temperature at the right level. Would that be okay, or is a basking light better that a heat pad?

Thanks for any help / advice.

Heating pads are worthless in a chameleon cage. The spend all their time at the top. Mine ventures down toward the bottom exploring a couple times a day or if he is chasing crickets or roaches, 99% of the time is is on the vines 8 inches from the top. At night he goes into his tree about midway up the enclosure. No heat or lights at night and it gets around 68 degrees in his cage.

You can use the UVB/LED combo light fixture. If it's the one I have seen, it has the UVB tube plus the LED lights which can be used as plant growth lights. You will still need a separate basking fixture/light. There aren't really any combo UV and basking light fixtures.

Also, the heat pad is useless for chameleons.

.

There a couple. They are off brands and targeted at turtle, tortoise and bearded dragon owners. I forget the name, as I am waiting to go into surgery and don't have my info at hand. Most mom & pop pet stores carry them.
