Bamboo

Hello Everyone,
I was wondering if it is safe to use bamboo for my veiled chameleon to climb on. I haven't allowed him to do so yet, I wanted to get your input.

Thanks MARK B.

I asked that question a while back, but I was concerned about them climbing on it since it looks so slippery.

The answer is yes its safe and yes they can easily climb on it.

Just be careful when buying fake plants, the cheapo stuff loses the color when it gets wet regualry and you don't want the Cham drinking the run off.

If you go to Lowes or Home Depot, outside in their garden area they have these 4ft long pieces. About as big around as a large pen. They run about $2. Buy 3 or 4 and cut them to fit. You don't have to be able to afford a plant to get some bamboo in there.

I have bamboo growing my back yard, I cut off some green branches and let them dry out slowly in the sun for 2 weeeks, then oven baked them at 200f for about 20 minutes, my cham is a little too small to really grasp the branches, but seems to hang out by them alot.
