Baking leaves and twigs for pygmys? And lighting??

Ok..so the reptile expo is coming up and i will be purchasing two female pygmy chameleons. i was just wondering how to bake twigs and leaves? Would they not set on fire? So what temp should i put the oven at?? And also i really need the right answer as to what lighting to use. I have heard 5.0 reptisuns and an indesant bulb for basking? Please help

Bake at 350 degree for 30 minutes. I line a cookie shet with tinfoil for this.
Reptisun 2.0 is the highest you should go. 5.0 is too strong-and no compact bulbs. A very low wattage basking light is OK IF your tank is big enough.
If you have the chance to get CB or CH-go with that. WC's can be difficult.

I might have missed this, but why is it necessary to bake leaves and twigs for pygmies? Sorry for hijacking your thread man, I was just a lil curious, never heard of that before. And which Reptile Expo? It wouldn't happen to be the Georgia Reptile Expo on Oct 25-26? If so, Georgia Bugs will be there :)

If you don't bake them, you run the risk of all kinds of introducing all kinds of unwanted organisms to your Pygmy cage.

That is big enough for a pair of pygmies. If the temps in your house hover in the low
70's that is perfect. Putting too much of a basking light on them will heat that cage up and you don't want them at all much above the mid 70's.

but they do need uvb?? right.... and i have a ficus and a pothos plant but do i need to take the soil out of it and put bed a beast in it?
