Bad sheds. :(

Hey everyone, really need some advise on Frita. Her sheds are not going well. Her last shed flaked and sloughed off and was horrible. She is do to shed again because her skin takes on this crispy look but it's not cracking open, she looks shrink wrapped almost. But now I'm afraid it's effecting her left eye. She has been rubbing it on things during misting, rotating it in the turret while puffing it out, and closing it, blinking it several times, ect. Her other eye is fine.

To get her to shed this last time I gave her a 15min shower and she shed that next day, but she hated the shower. Iv increased the mistings, but I did so before, seems that shower was the key. Is this a benefits outweigh the effects situation? She is obviously miserable with needing to shed and not being able to, and now her eye is itching. Should I do another shower even though they stress her out really bad? Or just hold her under warm water to soak real good. She seems to do better with this. I'm trying to limit her stress as much as possible lately.

But that eye has me concerned. There is no infection from what I see. She keeps it open to hunt. I'm attaching a picture.

it's the eye pictured. Any advise will be appreciated. If a vet visit is in order I'll gladly take my little chunky butt. Also is there anything I can add to her diet to help with her sheds?
