I have a year old red bar panther and the back of his head is swollen. You can not see it but when you touch it it's really squishy. He has always had a problem with eating, he doesnt eat as much as he should but he does eat about 4 to5 bugs a day. A few days ago he shed, but only on the back of his neck. I went to get him a bunch of new bugs today and when i got back and started feeding him i noticed that he had a few spots on the back of his head that hadn't shed yet. I felt it seeing if it would just fall right off and when i did i noticed his head was really squishy. You can't really tell from a picture but you can def feel it. I don't know if i should give him some shed aid, or if i should just leave it alone. The only other detail that i can add is that yesterday or the day before(can't remember which one) he drank an unusually large amount of water from the spray bottle. In the pictures it his the back of his head not his nose. It is really hard to notice. Please let me know what you think! We are worried parents! :(

I see the retained shed, but are you talking about his fat pads on top of his head? Those are supposed to be squishy. It's fat...

well hes an adult, so they dont shed their entire body each time.

also, the head isnt swollen. its squishy cuz those are fat pads.

hes eating a normal amount for an adult.

personally, i think hes a bit overweight, and i would change that to 4-5 bugs every other day.

if all else fails take him to the vet im not really sure what to do about this but i'll bump it to see if someone with more experience knows anything.

this cham is just fine.
hes just an adult and a tad overweight.

Hmm that makes sense. Last time i took him to the vet about 4 months ago he was underweight, so maybe it is just that he finally put some weight on and has some fat now? Idk, he is VERY active and never wants to just sit around. As for the shedding any advice on that or just let it be?

jsut let it be.

and reduce that feeding to every other day. its all fat in his head literally.

and shed will come off in time. it takes them forever it can seem like to shed as adults.
