So I’ve heard male...I’ve heard female.

s(he)isn’t showing super bright colors as expected I suppose so might be female. It looks like there might be faint stripes coming in but hard to tell..

so my real quest is lay bin or no lay bin...

IMO Young Male. How old is he? Tarsal spurs and tail base has a slight bulge after the vent.

I think people are seeing his stress pattern and focusing on that being more of a female trait... IME young males will display some pretty intense spots like a female would. This is one of my boys https://www.chameleonforums.com/media/9-5-20.52254/

rescued him from petsmart so they couldn’ give me a straight answer. I’m guessing 5 months

Sounds about right for age looking at the pics of him on your finger. I would say 4-5months. Even if you have one that is female showing male spurs (this is very rare) it will be a little while longer before a lay bin would be needed. Let him mature a bit more. Casque height does not really take off until they get to that 6 month mark. But honestly I am about 99% sure you have a male. My 5 month old is just now showing his patterns and his casque is smaller right now. Basing it off color or casque is not the correct way to tell gender with young Veileds. It is the spurs and it is looking at the tail base.
