Baby veiled seems very weak

Pretty much all of petsmarts and petcos reptile displays have uvb but you dont know if theyre being changed routinely and are.even any good. My store replaces every 6 months but i realy doubt they are all like that. See if the store u bought it from can take it to a herp vet or foot the bill. My PetSmart really goes out of their way to help ppl in these situations and will tske it back and treat it or pay the bill if u take it. Talk to their pet care manager.

Thank you very much. You have been a lot of help. We r taking him back now to hopefully help him and if they can't do anything I think we might to keep him and hope he stays healthy. He can't even stick his tongue out. It's very sad. Thank you again and how old is that jojo cham in the link.

Anybody answer my question about how long he can live if he has this disease and also how old is that jojo Cham that was in the link. Thanks

It really isn't how long he will live, in the case a MBD, it is rather all the horrible pain for the little guy.

Thank you. Do you think it would be a better decision to get a different Cham that is healthy.

Honestly, yes.
Dealing with a special needs cham can be time consuming, and expensive.
Not to mention, as a first cham, it could turn you off chams completely, because of all the extra care they require.

I think the best thing is to get a healthy cham if you really want one.....but I just couldn't give up on a sick baby like that because you know if you return him they will just let him die, my heart can not do that, but not knowing your financial situation I can't say just do what I would do.....best of luck to you and prayers for that little guy.

I would keep him my cham was sick with MBD when i first got him too and think half of the reason why i am so attatched to him is because i got him back up and running around, yeah he still has signs of mbd in his legs but thats just one thing that makes him a little unique. but like what lovepicasso said i don't know your financial situation so its entirely up to you. best of luck :D

Thanks guys for all your support. We decided that we didnt want to see him suffer so we had to get him put down. I would much rather him die a painless death than suffer. We got a jackson instead that is in great condition, the only thing is i noticed was that he had his mouth open a little when he was by the light.
I have a veiled named levi that is over a year old, and now our new jackson leon is the new addition. I plan on getting a panther cham next because their colors are just ridiculously amazing, especially that video i seen of a panther changing colors so quickly when he walked up on different color sunglasses. Thanks guys

Thanks very much for replying. I really like the Jackson he looks really cool and I hope he gets real vibrant colors like some I seen on google images. Thanks again.

I'm sure you did what was the best thing for that poor little baby, I'm sorry you had to and hope you have the very best with your new Jacksons.

So sorry about your baby veiled. :(

Congrats on choosing a Jackson's. They are generally rather docile and can be pretty shy.
They need much more humidity and misting than veileds, so you might want to get a misting sytem if you don't already have one.
They can be reluctant to drink, so longer mistings are better for them
Here is a good blog detailing Jackson's chams' needs.

Note that the temperature, supplement schedule and watering needs are quite different from veileds and panthers.
BTW, we do love pictures of chams here!
