I just recieved my male baby veiled from flchams on friday and he ate fine yesterday (about 7-8 crickets) but today he hasnt eaten any. I had to put him into a glas 20x18x18 GLASS tank because the one i ordered from LLLreptiles was backordered but they told me it was on the way when it wasnt. i have a screened top and a flukers lamp w/ a 60 watt bulb and i have been misting him about 5-6 times a day. The crickets have been gutloaded w/ nature zone total bites. I have live plant branches (pothos) in the tank w/ bendable vines and bendable tree branches. He has been walking around on the ground alot and just started basking under his lamp the crickets are free roaming and i have also added a feeder cup w/ tiny cut up apple, rappini and carott pieces. He just dosent seem to want anything. Is this normal for the adjustment period?

my chameleon does this every once in a while.

if he doesn't eat the crickets in his cage, take them out and try feeding again later!

my cham has a vicious appetite most of the time. i'm sure he just gets full.
7-8 crickets is a lot to fit into his tiny belly :)

They do take time to get acclamated to a new enclosure, yes. Just keep an eye on the temps, both ambient and basking. The glass enclosures can heat up in a hurry, a 60 watt bulb may need to be replaced with a 40, or even 25watt, if the temps creep up to high. 80-83 degrees should be the targeted basking range for young ones. Mist him often and you should be fine till the cage arrives.:)

Thanks! I was very upset with the cage situation. It should be here by thursday though...

It happens, I had a alum screen cage shipped from LLL and FedEx must have run over the package, as it was demolished when I recieved it!:( LLL sent out a new one the same day and all was well.;) LLL has great customer service, but incidients do happen. It's how a company handles the issue that really matters. Good luck!:)

Just a couple of things, your baby is adorable, what about a better picture?

Now, how old is the little veiled? I am sure if he came from Mike he will be fine if he doesn't eat a couple of days. Just make real sure he is well watered, and hopefully you will see him drink. Everything is different for him, tank, place, people, not to mention shipping stress. Take a deep breathe and give him time to relax. Does he have a name yet?

THANK YOU! I got the cam (VENOM) for my son for Easter(he loves spiderman). Venom is 2 months...Yeah i have been misting alot...im going to set up a dripper syst w/ a slow drip also. My wife has seen him drinking. Hes very active but shys away from us. He will climb onto our hand when we put it infront of him for a bit so hes warming up to us. My wife was holding him last night and he was crawlin al over her. I just checked on him and hes sleepin and green. SOOOO CUTE!
