Baby veiled first meal

Just a quick question. For those of you who have hatched veileds, how long after hatching do they typically take to start eating?

Depends. Sometimes the same day, sometimes a day or two. Individuals are different and kind of depends probably on length of incubation and how "finished" they hatch out (any umbilical present vs none at all for example).

Won't hurt anything to offer a little food on first day and watch and see.

Thanks. One baby is on day 2, the other is on day 1. Neither have shown interest in food. The baby that is on day two had quite a bit of yolk sac still attached. The second baby has about an 1/8 inch piece of umbilical left, no sac. They were incubated for 8 months
