baby veiled chameleon help

recently picked up a veiled from petsmart(i know they aren’t the best but he seemed healthy) i’ve had it for a week and everything’s going fine but i have a few questions that i would love to have answered. first of all i’m unsure of its age they said a month old at the store and they told me it was a male. it seems to have the tiny spurs to show and it does have a small bulge. i keep his tank at about 50-65% humidity and it’s a solid 80 during the day and drops to about 70 at night. i have a monsoon solo kit with dual hoses set on a timer.do these temps and humidity % seem decent for my baby veiled? i’ve seen him digging once and i was afraid it was too hot so i adjusted lighting and lowered humidity just a little.

when i was handling it i thought i had saw small spurs. i suppose i could be incorrect

• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
• History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:

• Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
• Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
• Location - Where are you geographically located?

To answer a few questions

50%-60% humidity is great, with a spike of 70% in the evenings is ideal
For a baby veiled 80-85F is good, once he's an adult the basking temp should be closer to 90F. A drop in temperature at night is important and 70F is perfect
We can't guarantee age but I find it hard to believe it's only a month old, we stock chameleons 2 months or older at my Petco location, but Petsmart is a different company. Either way, age is not a huge deal

If the top of the cage is a screen, raise the lights a couple of inches because baby chameleons tend to climb upside down and can get serious burns
