baby, squeaking/whistling noise?

Ok I gave him another shower as I cut the other one today short because of the noise he was making. Now in this shower he was squeaking and puffing out his throat again. He was also bulging his eye out, it was HUGE! I'm guessing he is going to shed soon? Or does it mean something else?

heya Darla,
Welcome to the forum.
Your baby is cleaning his eyes. It is perfectly normal and should be expected during the shower.

Oh cool, thanks! There is a lot of info and I have read literally for hours and hours. Some info isn't that easy to get unless you know where to look, which I didn't. So Thanks all!

The huge bulging of the eye means he is performing much-needed eyeball maintenance. The puffing and squeeking may just be from taking in the humid air and moisturizing his respiratory membranes, but it does raise concerns. Again, keep an eye on him outside the shower and listen closely to see if the puffing and squeeking is repeated. If it is then he needs a quick trip to the vets to be examined for respiratory infection.

I have been told by our vet, and one of the forum vets has even posted, that if they take in tiny amounts of plain water into their respiratory system it will not hurt them. It will be absorbed into the tissues and eventually excreted.

Ok I will watch him although he has not puffed up or made any noise while not in the shower. He also has not been green like he was in the shower either.

try not to be so worried about his color, mine will be green in the shower, and then turn darker to absorb more heat since he is hes dripping with water and probably chilly. its just another unique thing about them and how they thermoregulate.

I agree. One of our male veileds just loves the shower and gets his happy colors in there. His name is Guido, and he generally reserved his happy green colors for periods spent outside his enclosure.

Ha ha, that's cute!
