Baby porcupine puffer!!!

Fish only, no coral. The fish we want will attack the corals and destroy them. Ill upload ics of our tank later in a diff thread.

Im sorry to hear about your nitrates:( We are having another hairy algae outbreak. We have isoltaed the stupid rock many many times and came out clean but it hides deep within and is choking our polyps! UGH!

What do you mean Kids? Yes, we have them but no one pays attention. The fish are in the dining room so we only watch them when we eat. dogs wont go int here because its hardwood flooring.

Chromis and Damsel both VANISHED within 3 days. We assumed it was the emerald crabs getting them and the rest of the cleanup crew doing away. We rid of the emeralds. The goby we had for less than 8 hours before we found it on the floor. OUr tank doesnt allow us to put a hood on due to the lights on their stands. The tang we had for a day before it was found with its eyes gouged out and the coral banded eating away at it.

The firefish I found with its tail chopped off and a giant snail cleaning up the rest within 4 days of buying it.. and the sea star we had for about 3 months when all of sudden we noticed random tentacles (still moving I might add) around the tank, I found the body of it completely deflated. We still havent found the larger sea star in about 2 weeks. SO yea, a run of bad luck..and hubby wonders why i dont wanna spend any more on fish!

Mhm:( I ended up buyinbg a protien skimmer. it may be useful but it is the most annoying contraption ever. I dunno what I'll do if it doesn't quiet down. Poor Shuo, he's all on his lonesom now. In two weeks I'll get him new tankmates. When everything is stable once again.

Blackbetty - is it possible that you have a mantis shrimp that somehow snuck it's way into your tank with live rock, or maybe a spider crab? Sometimes they can be hidden in the rock when you buy it, and then when you put it in your tank they have a feast. We also had a blenny which jumped out of the tank and into the overflow tube - we found it about a month later back there, and were shocked to see him still alive!

I used to have a few of those brackish water green spotted puffers. They were really cool and fun to have but whenever I would stick my hand in the tank to move a plant or something they would bite me and they had really sharp tiny little teeth!

Really? Well, i guess they'll do that. Shuo is like a puppy but nicer. He lets me pet him and stuff. (Not that I do it everyday). Oh man, it turns out that the protien skimmer sold to me was so big it doesn't fit the tank. My tank is a 33gal. The skimmer is for a 165gal. :O The girl who sold it to me didn't know what she was talking about. I wanted to over filtrate not overdose. Lol. Oh well. Tomorrow I'll go back and exchange it for a smaller one. Poor Shuo. I'm still heartbroken.

absolut: Never seen one. I did find a bristle worm but its small. We thought maybe the Coral banded? I saw one take a swipe at the clown the otehr day..full charged him when he swam by. Hubby says they arent confrontational like that so he thinks he might be protecting the other coral..perhaps pregnant? I dont know how to tell male from female.. But I dont think so.. we have isolated every rock in there and killed everything off before adding any corals or fish so we know exactly whats in there. The bristle came from someone recently that we purchased a coral from. it was in the rock, but the rock is so small that a shrimp or crab wouldnt fit.and he arrived AFTER they all died... Im baffled.. Hubby wants all these pretty fish but I cant do it.. they die!

I had to downgrade my protien skimmer, the girl who sold it to me obviously wasn't paying attention. I have a 33gal tank. She gave me a skimmer that'd fit a 165 gallon tank:O Oops. So I got a smaller skimmer. Its still noisy but it's not half as bad. lol.

The guys at Big Al's did something so sweet for me! They knew how heartbroken I am over the loss of not just my other fish but the porcupine puffer so the guy ordered one in for me. A little baby one! And I came in today to get the skimmer and he said he had a surprise for me and he showed me the little puffer and I swear if he hadn't been helping someone at that moment I would have hugged him!

I highly advise anyone interested in fish to go to Big Al's. They are the best!

Congrats on your new fishY!!!!

Mhm. i'll pick him up in two weeks once my tank has been stable for a good amount of time. I love that store. I wanna work there so badly.

Yay, I'd post pictures if i could, but aside from not having a camera, you try to get one of these fish to sit still for more then a second! Its harder then a chameleon. Lol.
