Baby Crickets??

So I've been finding baby crickets around my place..... Where are they coming from :/. Could some adults have bred in Kirbys cage in the soil? I don't know why I keep finding them away from the cage in different rooms. Someone help! I don't want Crickets everywhere.

yes, certainly, crickets will and do lay eggs in soil.
which then hatch
and baby crickets will then bee-bop all over the show (why would they stay in one place?)

options
  • remove soil so that there is no where for crickets to lay eggs
  • pour boiling water over soil (will kill eggs, but also plants if there are any)
  • cup feed when offering female crickets (so that crickets have no access to the soil)
  • remove ovipositors (scissors) from female crickets to reduce egg laying
  • sticky roach traps (peanut butter scented works well) multiple places on the floor near cage, adjacent rooms and rooms on lower floors
  • learn to like house spiders

Haha I no longer trap and release my house spiders. I was never one to smush them, I simply threw them out the window.... now they are welcome to stay. :D
