I have a new clutch of 2 1/2 month old Panther Chams that are misteriously dieing. ive had 6 out of the clutch of 30 die with this black looking spots on them. They get very lethargic and get the spots then die. I am including a picture of one that died today.

Go to a good reptile veterinarian. Take one or two newly deceased animals and any showing symptoms. Do it right away as you could lose the whole clutch if you wait.

Sorry to hear about your babies :( Yes fill out the form, include pictures of the cage and lighting. Hopefully the breeders on here will give you a heads up.

I dont believe the black spots are indicating anything. When they die it is typical to throw the white and black along with pale colors in general.

I want to start off with this. Most breeders lose some of a clutch no matter what. I personally think it is gods way of population control :) When it is your first clutch or two from a pairing so many factors can lead to the health of neonates. Its hard to pin point without knowing all the factors how to trouble shoot possible things that would lead to a clutch's health.

If you could fill out the how to ask for help form. Filling one out for the mom and how you care for the babies would help if there is noticeable care problems.

Things to help clutch health
*good genetics
*good nutrition and care of the parents. Especially the dame. Dont skip a beat with her. Giving her whole rounded nutrition is where it starts.
*proper incubation temps
*incubation media moisture
-once hatched
*Simple care. Good uvb, proper temps, hydration (good broad leaves for them to drink from), humidity, nutrition (feeders, gutload and supplements).
*Dont over crowd your bins. If you see bullying or even real submissive ones. You want to separate accordingly.
*keep your bins clean
