Usually that is a sign of them being territorial. Nothing is wrong with it. He you will find that he will do that the majority of the time you intrude on his space.

Some rare occasions we will get chameleons that are sweet and nice but look at this as a sign of him being healthy.

Congrats on the new family member.

They do it to mimic branches on the trees blowing in the wind. It's another form of camouflage. If you watch The Chameleons of Madagascar DVD which is for sale on the forums, you'll see that it's actually very accurate too =)

Very likley it means he thinks your a huge predator that sprays water at its victims! :D
The odd dance is often referred to as 'The leaf dance', its done to mimic the movement of leaves (on swaying branches) in the wind. Its a camouflage defence when they are on the move.
Perfectly normal :)

Welcome to the forum

He sounds like a healthy happy veiled and you sound healthy also. Worrying about your cham is a good sign. We all do it.:D Welcome.

thanx for being so nice :D but i have another question  whenever i feed him, i put the crickets in his cage and he goes after them and nails them off the side o the cage :D:D:D but lately, the crickets have been going in the soil of my ficus  does anyone know how to stop this?

i was thinking about that, but my cham (Xanthus) goes down to the soil sometimes to explore :) so is there another way?

The 'leaf walk' is a camouflage thing. The 'rocking' and gaping usually means really pissed off! I took a video of Amy eating a waxworm and I moved my thumb too quick and startled her! She did the rocking, chin puffed out and karate hands thing too - I had the full works! I was quite shocked - I'd never experienced a pissed off cham before - Lily (my first cham) was such a laid back happy girl!

Here's Amy doing her thing:

OMG! I'd forgotten just how tiny she was!:D
