i have a baby chameleon i just got him 3 days ago my mom keeps playing with him but i’m telling her not to cause he’s so new to his enclosure. but he’s not eating a lot or drinking water i tried to feed him with tweezers, out of a bowl, and in my hand, but he still won’t eat his crickets. so i just let them loose in the tank. i’ve seen him eat only twice. and he’s getting weird dark colors and dark spots i think it’s cause he’s stressed or mad cus i try to feed him myself. i just want to make sure he eats. can u help me pls? He is light green when i first received him and now he’s dark with spots.

Please Note:
  1. The more details you provide the better and more accurate help you will receive.
  2. Photos can be very helpful

When I got my first chameleon I let her adapt for a week then very slowly put my hand in. When she was still fine with it, I gently picked her up from below. She is now 2yrs old and will freely climb on to my hand. You have to give them time to settle in and adapt to her new enclosure. Those spots on your chameleon in the photos definitely mean that it's stressed. The first week is when your chameleon is the most vulnerable to stress. Fill out the form above. Don't handle him/her anymore the next week or two AT ALL. Your lil guy is getting very stressed out. To answer your question, They don't eat when they're stressed. Also when I got my second chameleon mine didnt eat for a week while he was settling in.
