Automatic Mister Setting for Veiled

Hello,
I have a 7 month old male veiled chameleon. I have installed an Exo Terra Monsoon misting system. How often, and what duration of misting do most veileds need? I can set this to mist just about as often as I want.

I am concerned that he gets the amount of water that he needs. I have drip vines located near misting nozzles, too. What are the signs of dehydration? I just want to make sure he's well hydrated. Poop looks normal- brown with white urates- dry.
Thanks!

Misting is depending on the chams personality. Some will hide durring a 30 second misting, and then come out after words and drink. Others wont start drinking until it rains on their heads for a minute or some other time. You are going to have to experiment. You want a good drink morning, noon, and the after noon a few hours before it goes to its sleeping spot.

You can also get fancy and set it to go off 8 times during the day for 30 sec to keep humidity up.

The main problem is, you have to set it up so the cage drys out between mistings. And dont mist at night, you do not want a cage to stay wet over night.

My guy likes a good shower, so i have it going off for 5min at 7am, then a 30 sec burst at 10am, then another 5min rain at noon, then a 30 sec burst at 4pm, then a final 1min burst at 8pm (hes in bed by then) that drys out by 11pm. I would not do the final burst at 8pm unless you know it will dry out before you goto bed. I turn off the final burst once spring comes and the house humidity isnt at 30%.

I set my mistking to start at 8 am. it goes off every 2 hours for 1 minute.

my guys do fine.
